Southforward.com – Russia says that the latest US (US) sanctions on Moscow are a declaration of US war against Russia.
Reporting from Sputnik, Friday (08/10/2018), This was stated by Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev in a press statement to the media.
“All I can say is that if they ban banking operations or use any currency, we will call it a declaration of economic warfare,” Medvedev said.
He said that his country must immediately respond economically, politically and in other ways. But he did not connect the question “other ways”.
“We have to respond, economically, politically or in other ways, if necessary. Our American friends should not make mistakes about that,” he continued.
As is known, the US on Wednesday announced it would impose new sanctions on Russia after Washington decided that Moscow had used nerve against the former Russian double agent, Sergei Skripal, and his daughter, Yulia, in England.
Russia has repeatedly denied responsibility for the attack. The Russian embassy in Washington said in a statement that Washington’s findings in the case were not supported by evidence.
The US announcement triggered worsening investor sentiment about the possible effect of more US sanctions on Russian assets. The ruble’s exchange rate against the dollar also slumped more than 1 percent, a day after falling to its lowest level in almost two years.
