Southforward.com – President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, pointed out that the United States (US) is a country that cannot be relied on in the international community.

Reporting from Xinhua, Thursday (08/08/2018), this was conveyed by Rouhani in an opportunity before reporters when asked about Iran’s relations with the US.

As is known, Iran and US relations continue to heat up. Various economic sanctions have also been imposed by the superpower to Iran.

He also said that friendly countries should stand together and improve cooperation.

“In the current situation, friendly countries must stand together and enhance their cooperation,” Rouhani said at a meeting with North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho.

“Iran is willing to expand relations and cooperation on all fronts with the global community, including Pyongyang,” Rouhani added.

“Iran is also seeking peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and giving importance to developments in the region,” he said.

In turn, the North Korean Foreign Minister criticized the US decision to re-impose sanctions on Iran as a wrong step. Yong-ho said that the move was against international law.

Ri Yong-ho arrives in Tehran on Tuesday for an official visit. Previously he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.
