Southforward.com – Mike Pompeo, Foreign Minister of the United States (US) said that Russia damages self-image with the annexation of the Crimea.

Reported by Sputnik, Thursday (26/7/2018), It was delivered by Mike Pompeo in a press statement responding to the Crimean problem in front of reporters.

As reported earlier, Pompeo said that Russia is trying to undermine the foundation of the International principle of a democratic country.

He also stressed that no country can change the borders of other countries by force.

“Russia, through the 2014 invasion of Ukraine and the attempted annexation of the Crimea, seeks to undermine the basis of an international principle held by democratic countries, that no country can change the borders of other countries by force,” Pompeo said.

He also stated that the US rejected attempts to annex Russia for the Crimea and pledged to maintain this policy until the territorial integrity of Ukraine was restored.

“In shared worries with allies, partners, and the international community, the US rejected attempts to annex Russia for the Crimea and pledged to maintain this policy until the territorial integrity of Ukraine was restored,” he continued.

Further Pompeo, the US will never recognize the Crimea as part of Russia.
