Southforward.com – The Russian navy is reported to have their new “Ammunition” coming this year in the past six months.
The “ammunition” includes three sophisticated warships and 49 Kalibr cruise missiles. The hardware has come to the Russian Navy.
Reported from Russia Today, Tuesday (24/7/2018), it was delivered by Deputy Defense Minister of Russia, Alexey Krivoruchko in his press release.
He said that the Russian Navy’s arrival of new ammunition were three new combat ships, two supporting ships and one battleship in repair.
“The acquisition of a new navy includes three newly built combat ships, two support ships, and one warship that has been repaired, as well as the coastal defense missile system Bastion,” he said.
“A total of 49 Kalibr tactical cruise missiles and four anti-ship missiles also start operating in 2018,” he added.
Kalibr missiles are known to be able to hit ships, submarines and beach facilities. The missile has a subsonic speed, with several versions capable of performing supersonic sprints in the final phase of the attack, giving the target defense system less time to react.
One of the new ships, the medium scout, Ivan Khurs, is currently docked at a base at Kronshtadt on Kotlin Island in the Gulf of Finland. The vessel is being prepared for the Navy Day parade.
