Russia Asks US To Release Maria Butina Soon

Southforward.com – Russia has asked the United States (US) to immediately release a Russian woman who was arrested and diutudh a secret agent.

Reported by Reuters on Monday (7/23/2018), This was delivered by Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov in a statement of his attitude on the arrest.

The ministry said it had held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the issue.

“Sergei Lavrov stated this through a phone call to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo with the aim of improving bilateral ties,” the ministry said.

On Wednesday, US judges ordered Butina jailed until his trial was held after US prosecutors thought he had links with Russian intelligence and could escape from the United States.

As is known, A woman named Maria Butina has been arrested by US authorities for allegedly being a secret agent for Russia.

Butina is accused of working with a high-ranking Russian official and two unknown US citizens, trying to infiltrate pro-arms rights organizations in the United States and affect US foreign policy towards Russia.
