Southforward.com – The White House has reportedly rejected a referendum attempt in the Ukrainian Ukrainian hegemon drafted by Russian President Vladimir Putin some time ago.
Quoted from CBS, Saturday (21/07/2018), this decision is confirmed by Spokesman National Security Council, Garrett Marquis in his statement.
The Marquis said an agreement between Russia and the Ukrainian government to resolve the conflict in the Donbas region does not include such an option. Any attempt to organize the so-called referendum will have no legitimacy.
“The US government is not considering supporting the referendum in eastern Ukraine,” the Marquis said.
“The Minsk Treaty is a process for resolving the conflict in Donbass, and the agreement does not include an option for a referendum, and to set up a so-called referendum on the part of Ukraine that is not under the control of the government will have no legitimacy,” he added.
This official statement came after President Donald Trump’s invitation to the President Vladimir Putin to come to Washington DC.
