Southforward.com – Norway through its defense ministry has reportedly approved the addition of 400 US marines to be stationed in the Scandinavian country.
Reported CNN page, Wednesday (13/06/2018), This was delivered directly by Norwegian Defense Minister Frank Bakke-Jensen in a statement in the press.
Previously, the US also sent 300 of its marine personnel to the country and now added 400 personnel.
Pentagon spokesman Eric Pahon said the US Defense Ministry welcomed Norway’s stance of approving the addition of US personnel.
“We are grateful to the Norwegian government for allowing us to use Vaernes as a training facility,” Pahon said.
Not yet known when 400 additional personnel will be sent. But both sources said “Immediately” the delivery process will be done.
“The US and Norwegian marine corps has a long and well-run relationship that will continue to be improved in the future.We will continue the dialogue with US and US marine corps (USMC) to reach a mutual agreement in the near future regarding the continuation of these regular training and training activities, “Frank Bakke-Jensen added.
